HALLOWEEN IDEAS - don't be afraid...Do It Yourself!

Quem disse que a imaginação tem limites?...Certamente alguém que nunca perdeu muito tempo a pensar nas alternativas. Muito menos agora, em plena Era DIY e quando a Internet nos aproxima de outras mentes a fervilhar de ideias frescas e super originais, que nos permitem pôr em prática tudo aquilo que, aparentemente poderia ser caro, ou inacessível. 

Incrível como um pouco de bom gosto, atenção ao detalhe, cola, cartão craft e uma tesoura "goes a long way". Descobri estas ideias maravilhosas em mais uma das minhas pesquisas (sem nenhum objectivo aparente mas sempre com resultados muito úteis) no pinterest e na etsy.

Gosto especialmente do fato de caracol...genial e amoroso, e muito fácil de fazer ;) ora vejam as dicas aqui - Oh Happy Day

Who said that imagination has limits? ... Surely someone who never lost much time thinking about the alternatives. Much less now, in the DIY Era, and when the internet brings us closer to other minds bustling with fresh and super original ideas which allow us to put into practice everything that apparently could be expensive or inaccessible.

Amazing how a little of good taste, attention to detail, glue, scissors and craft paper goes a long way. I found these wonderful ideas in another one of my endless researches (with no apparent purpose but always with very useful results) on pinterest and etsy.

I especially like snail costume...genious and lovely, and very easy to do ;). Don´t believe it? See the tips here - Oh Happy Day

TRIP - A face rebelde do Alentejo

Santo António em Lisboa é igual a confusão instalada, sardinhas a preço de ouro, sangria de pacote, bailes e bailaricos - Ok, está bem  - ADORO! Mas desta vez, aproveitei para fugir - Costa Alentejana cá vou eu.

1ª paragem - Arrifana

Se nunca lá estiveram, experimentem alugar uma casa na escarpa que desce até à praia e prometo que não se arrependem. Além da praia ser uma requisito diário obrigatório, uma passagem pelo mercado de Aljezur, logo cedo -11:00h - apesar de tudo estou de férias e menos que isso...impossível!

2ª paragem - Vale dos Homens, Rogil

Uma palavra - MARAVILHOSO!

Por lá, além da companhia perfeita numa casa no topo do penhasco, encontrei uma praia de sonho, estrelas do mar, ouriços, coloridas flores do campo, uma gruta com algas de um verde quase florescente...e cereja no topo do bolo - um céu nocturno cravejado de estrelas onde até as cadentes não se fizeram rogadas em fazer-nos companhia ao serão.

St. António, is a popular festival in Lisbon . The "Festas de Lisboa" are in June and, for one month, there are concerts, parties and special events on streets all over. And it also equals confusion, lots of people, sardines at the price of gold, sangria, sweet rice, popular dances - Okay, okay - I LOVE IT! But this time, I preferred to run to - Alentejo seashore here - here I come.

1st stop - Arrifana
If you've never been there, try renting a house on the escarpment leading down to the beach and I promise you will not be sorry. Besides the beach, that's a daily requirement, also a the market of Aljezur is a must go, get there early -11:00 h max - after all I'm on vacation and sooner than that ... impossible!

2nd stop - Vale dos Homens, Rogil
One word - WONDERFUL!
There, besides have my best friends in a dream house on the cliff top, I found a dream beach, starfish, urchins, colourful wildflowers, a grotto with a green almost algae thriving ... and the icing on the cake - a night sky studded with stars where even the shooting stars seem not to end, and joined us every night.

TIPS - Guide to the Foreign Japanese Kitchen

Quem não gosta de comida japonesa?! Há quem diga que "primeiro estranha-se, depois entranha-se"comigo foi exactamente assim.

Tenho andado a tentar aperfeiçoar os meus dotes - quase nulos - na cozinha japonesa. Mas estou decidida a aperfeiçoar-me e descobri este livro, que além de lindo parece ser uma grande ajuda. Moe Takemura criou este "Guide to the Foreign Japanese Kitchen", um livro que descreve como a cozinha tradicional japonesa é possível na Suécia (Ok, eu não estou na Suécia, mas parece-me fácil de adaptar) com ingredientes locais. 

Depois conto-vos como está a correr!

Who does not like Japanese food?! Some say "first you think it´s strange and then you can´t let it go" - it´s sounds better in portuguese.. well but with me it was exactly like that.

I have been trying to perfect my skills - almost zero - in Japanese cuisine. But I'm determined to improve myself and I discovered this book, besides having a gorgeous design it seems to be a great help. Moe Takemura created this "Guide to the Foreign Japanese Kitchen", a book that describes how the traditional Japanese cuisine is possible in Sweden (Ok, I'm not in Sweden, but it seems easy to adapt) with local ingredients.

I'll tell you later how it is running!

Uma viagem em formato Crowdsourced?!?

Genial! Ao que parece um casal de Nova Iorque lançou-se nesta aventura no início de fevereiro, e dependendo dos caprichos de familiares, amigos e pessoas aleatórias, pois esta é uma viagem em formato crowdsourcing, e quem "banca" dita o destino, lá vão percorrendo muita estrada - WOW, também quero!

Parece-me um formato bastante democrático e claro o nome escolhido pelo casal para esta aventura, que deve durar 1 ano,  não poderia ser melhor - The Democratic Travelers.

Até agora, Ellis de 27 anos, e Preston de 25,  já contam com visitas a 9 estados e 60 destinos sugeridos.

Humm...isto está a dar-me ideias!

Crowdsourced Trip?!?

Genius. Apparently a New York couple hit the road in february, and depending on the whims of family, friends and random people, because this is a journey shaped by crowdsourcing, and the people dictate the destiny - WOW I also want that.

It seems to me, this is a very democratic way to do things, and therefor the name chosen by the couple for this adventure, which should last one year, could not be better - The Democratic Travelers.

So far, Ellis, 27, and Preston, 25, already rely on visits to 60 states and 9 destinations, all suggested by their supporters.

Hmm ... this is giving me some ideas!

Eat My Pops - Yes, Please!

Doces, inspiração, design, diversão e Muiiito bom gosto!

Isto foi o que descobri no Eat My Pops (adoro o nome by the way). Se nos passearmos pelo site da marca facilmente descobrimos que a promessa de nos proporcionarem momentos de encher o olho, estrelar o céu-da-boca e alimentar o coração, é provavelmente, a mais pura verdade..o meu rapidamente ficou estrelado mas, contudo, cheio de água na boca!

E como me revejo neste espírito de negócio caseiro, com qualidade e handmade do Eat My Pops, decidi partilhar convosco. Agora só me falta arranjar uma oportunidade, ou simplesmente uma desculpa, para experimentar…IDEIAS?

This was what I found on Eat My Pops (love the name by the way). Looking at the brand's website I easily found that the promise of providing moments of pure pleasure and delight are probably the pure truth. 

And besides all that I trully identify myself with this spirit of homemade, high quality products of concepts like Eat My Pops, there for I decided to share this finding with you. Now I just need to find an opportunity, or simply an excuse to try it ... IDEAS?

Tatuagens!...fake but fabulous

Estão na moda e são já, para muitos, também o acessório ideal.

Confesso que gosto de tatuagens, e até tenho uma (cheia de significado - claro), queria outra, mas nunca me consegui decidir quanto a que tatuagem melhor expressava determinado momento da minha vida ou qual não me importaria de ter, muito provavelmente, para o resto da minha vida...Bom, mas eu sou daquelas que até a simples pergunta "qual o teu prato favorito?" me causa desconforto e insegurança no encontro da certeza absoluta. O que gosto hoje, não será certamente o mesmo de amanhã...e por isso, ao descobrir este site fiquei fã - Tattly - um site de fake tatoos, mas todas com muito bom ar, e a um óptimo preço! 

O Tattly vende tatuagens temporárias criadas por designers, um pouco por todo o mundo. Vou fazer a minha primeira encomenda a ver como corre.

They are trendy and are express the now, and also for many, they´re the ideal accessory to complete the look.

I confess that I like tattoos, and even have one (full of meaning - of course), I wanted another, but I never could decide on what tattoo best expressed a particular time of my life or witch one I wouldn´t mind having, probably, for the rest of my life ... Well, I am one of those that even the simple question "what is your favorite dish?" causes me discomfort and insecurity in the search of that absolute certainty. What I like today will certainly not be the same tomorrow ... and when I discovered this site I became a fan - Tattly - a site of fake tatoos, but all with very good design, and a great price!

The Tattly sells temporary tattoos created by designers all over the world.  I´m going to make my first order to see how it goes.

TRIP - Lisboa a Marrocos

Tudo começou de uma forma muito simples, passou por alguns, quase, desastres de comunicação, mas acabou de forma absolutamente Mágica - aliás como todas as viagens feitas com grandes amigos.

- "Vamos a Marrocos? Não temos dinheiro, não queremos gastar o pouco que temos em jantares e copos, perdidos em noites de verão...por isso vamos a Marrocos!", a ideia parecia simples, barata e tentadora! Por isso, fomos!
Marrocos entrou-nos pelos poros e ficou-nos no coração. Aprendi várias coisas com esta viagem, mas as mais importantes foram - o poder da fé, e que nada é impossível, principalmente em África.

Falar francês / gostar de regatear / em Marrakech saber que tannerie é diferente de teinturerie /dormir uma noite no deserto / provar Tagine / saber quais os meses de Ramadão / ir a um Hammame/ ouvir Tazarine de Gustavo Santaolalla / jantar na Praça Jemaa el Fna / Visitar a Cisterna Portuguesa e assinar o livro de dedicatórias da loja mesmo em frente / saber que "plaisir pour plaisir" tem sempre um preço a pagar / seguir em frente sem medos...

MUST DO - Picnic na relva

Descobri um sitio fantástico que nos traz, numa frequência diária, os segredos mais bem guardados (mas que devem ser partilhados) de lisboa. Estou fã do Lisbon Daily Secret. E esta última dica que revelaram é sem dúvida um Must Do esta primavera. 

Mesmo que não seja este picnic especificamente, a verdade é que me sinto tentada a colocar em prática os meus dotes de cozinha ao ar livre - que tanto fazia quando era mais pequena, com a familia toda reunida e as formigas que insistiam em fazer-nos companhia - hábitos que nos fazem sonhar, não devem nunca ficar arrumados no passado. 

VIVA o regresso aos picnics! 

Agora só me falta encontrar o cesto ideal!

I discovered a fantastic website that brings on a daily basis, the best kept secrets (but that should be shared) of lisbon. I'm a fan of the Lisbon Daily Secret. And this last tip is without a doubt a Must Do this spring.
Even if not specifically this picnic, the truth is that I feel tempted to put into practice my outdoor kitchen skills - it remindes me when I was just a little girl, and my whole family gathered for a picnic (with the ants who insisted on making us company) - habits that make us dream, should never be stowed in the past.
HURRAY for the return of picnics!
Now I just need to find the perfect basket!

TRIP - Lisboa, Alentejo

Tons de primavera

Um dia acordamos e sentimos - ESTE É O DIA - pois para mim, esta 2ª feira foi um desses dias. 

Decidi que tudo o que trazia dentro de mim, todas as recordações, os conselhos, as advertências, as receitas, os risos, as lágrimas, eram imensamente maiores que eu e já não cabiam dentro de mim. Como tal, chegou a altura de partilhar.
Começo pelas coisas aparentemente mais materiais, mas que carregam o peso do amor e da personalidade de todas as mulheres que fizeram parte da minha vida - as cores, os tecidos, as técnicas que todas elas me deixaram. Espero que gostem! É o meu legado de amor!

Hoje começo a partilhar parte desse legado, hoje mais do que vender uma saia começo por vender uma peça que tal como todas as outras que vos trarei aqui, fazem parte de uma história de vida.

One day we wake up and feel - THIS IS THE DAY - well to me, this Monday was the day.

I decided that all bore within me, all the memories, advice, warnings, recipes, laughs, tears, was vastly greater than I could imagine and theres not enough space to keep it inside me. As such, I have to share them. I beggin things apparently more material, but they carry the weight of love and personality of all the women who were part of my life - the colors, the fabrics, the techniques that they all left me. I hpe you like them! This is my legacy of love!

Today I start by sharing part of that legacy, today I start more than a sell of a vintage skirt, because by selling this piece like all others that will bring you here, I give you part of a life story.
